Joyce + Chris {Engagement} *Cindy Guessford

The late afternoon sun is warm and welcoming as Joyce, Chris and I wander around the location that they scouted for their E-Session.  I love when clients peep out great spots full of color, texture and little nooks and crannies to explore.  Joyce told me how nervous they were about the session and I know how hard it can be on the other side of the lens.  Trust me as we walk and talk and forget that there is a camera.  Just focus on each other and this incredible connection that you share and just let me be there…..  She did, he did,  we shot…..  Here are a few of my faves =)

Welcome to the world Boyd! {a baby session} *Cindy Guessford

Making the drive to see Kelly and Joe I get a little deja vu! You see, 3 years ago I made the very same drive to snap the very first images of their first born son Luke. Now fast forward three years and we are welcoming Boyd to their family. I love witnessing the dynamincs of family and the interaction within. Luke is what every mom wants a big brother to be. He is so gentle with Boyd and protective and loving towards him. My heart swells just watching how cute and lovely this scene plays out. I know that behavior is formulated early on and so much of our persomalities are all ready established at an early age. Having said this I am confident that Boyd will grow up knowing that he is very much loved and that his big Bro will always have his back! Thank you so muchfor letting me share in these moments!kjlb-001kjlb-002kjlb-004kjlb-005kjlb-006kjlb-007kjlb-008kjlb-009

Rose + Mike {Wedding} *Cindy Guessford

Staring out the window pane I try to assess whether or not the rain has subsided, I can hear the faint rustling sounds of the girls in the next room as they are putting the finishing touches on themselves so that they can help Rose get dressed. I look towards the sky and can see the the sun just barely shedding it’s light down through the smoky colored clouds. Squinting towards the ground I realize that yes, it is in fact still raining as I see the puddles in the parking lot and the raindrops doing their rhythmic dance into them. As I turn away from the window and head towards the room where in just minutes Rose will emerge from dressed and ready to get married I think to myself that there are no worries today. Rose and Mike are just so easy going and adaptable to any situation. I know that no matter what the conditions of the day they are going to embrace the opportunities. This is just one of the many qualities that I love about them! They are cool and chill and just plain easy to be around. You can see the comfort that they share in each other & the support from friends and family. Later in the day Mike approached me and informed me that I had a flat tire. Without blinking and standing there in his tux he offered to change it for me. That’s just the kind of guy he is. There’s no way I was gonna let him do that but I was so taken back by his sincerity and genuine good nature. I am reminded that there are still wonderful, altruistic and beautiful people in this world and that makes me smile. So as I edit these images for blog posting I am feeling a little vintage. Nostalgic for the days when life was simpler and people were nicer and you just did the right thing even when no one was looking. Thank you Rose and Mike for taking me back to those days and for helping me to realize that we can all make “those” days Today. =) Much love to you both!RMblog001RMblog002RMblog003RMblog004RMblog005RMblog006RMblog007RMblog008RMblog009RMblog010RMblog011

Carol + Chris

They couldn’t stop him … not that they wanted to or he wanted to be stopped …

Enjoyed very much my day with Carol and Chris, and their families.  Thank you!  As always, love interaction and the connection with people.  Had an opportunity to capture some great relaxed formal images and a lot of candids later.

Look carefully at the photo with groomsmen holding the bride and you will see Philly on the horizon.  It was a grey afternoon last Saturday, but you could still see the Philly skyline in the distance – the home area of the Philly8!   The Philadelphia view – courtesy of the Pine Hill Golf Club.

How to have an awesome backyard wedding

Yes, backyard weddings CAN be awesome and as good as any top end venue in the world…especially if you have a great yard! Lauren and Josh asked me to be a part of their simple backyard wedding…and if you ask me it was way beyond simple! It was extremely well done and certainly the best (okay only) backyard wedding I have ever shot. Here are a couple of my favorites, and click HERE for the SLIDESHOW of their wedding day…

So how did Lauren and Josh make it so awesome? Fist the backyard was pretty large, about an acre, so that helped. Her parents spent a year making sure it looked amazing as well! Second, amazing caterer, that had a HUGE portable bathroom, and served one of the best meals I have had all year long! So it is possible to have an awesome backyard weddings while having the feel of a high end venue!

Whitney & Nicholas Depue Wedding, Skytop Lodge, Skytop, PA

Hello everyone

Here are a few photos from the Depue wedding from Saturday night. It was held at the beautiful Skytop Lodge in Skytop, PA. What a class act that place is. This was a fun wedding because I actually went to high school with the bride. It was nice to see a lot of people from the old days of High School in Bangor, PA.

Enjoy the photos!

Welcome Baby Julia {Portraits} *Cindy Guessford

The smell of the salt air beckons me as I approach their beach house. You see, today I am very excited to meet Amy and Vinny’s new little bundle. It is also a day of firsts for little Julia…. Today will be her first photo session and her first trip to the beach! We couldn’t have asked for a nicer evening. A gentle breeze blowing as the amber rays of the still warm late summer sun descends. We make our way to the nearly deserted beach and spend some time hanging out until the sun is only a memory. I often feel myself compelled to analyze this evolution of a relationship as I engage in my sessions. I notice a consistency that has endured since the day I shot Amy and Vinny’s wedding, although I am sure there are many! They still look at each other and behave in a way that is so very much in love and I see this look that they share with each other when they look at Julia. She is most certainly the apple of their eye! Congrats to you both, it is so obvious that Julia is beautiful and healthy and very well loved!

Alyson + Shane – Bucks County Wedding – Nicole Polk

Alyson + Shane had a wonderfully intimate ceremony at the Joseph Ambler Inn this summer.  You may remember them from their Italian Market e session.  Much like myself and Zach, these two have been together for forever!  Though it seems like they can’t remember what life was like before they met, there was absolutely no shortage of love and emotion.  Shane teared up a bit during the ceremony and Alyson made it all the way till the best man speech before cracking a tear, but it was definitely there!  It was a beautiful day with some beautiful images!

Keri and Jon – Bucks county wedding

It may have rained the day before, and even a little after the ceremony, but when it counted… We had dry skies:)

Keri and Jon were married on a private farm of a family friend in Furlong (in the heart of Central Bucks County). The entire setup was beautiful and their guests had a great time.

Starting out with the guys for some relaxed portraits, I headed over to meet up with the ladies just down the street. They were close enough, that instead of the limo, they had a horse and carriage bring them to the ceremony. It honestly, was like a fairytale story.

Enjoy a few from the day!

Kelly + Bob {Wedding} *Cindy Guessford

It starts out as a little tingle when the baby hairs on the back of my neck feel that electric buzz so closely associated with the joy of stumbling onto a moment. I get really excited as my hand grips a little tighter and my right eye squints a little more while I peer through the viewfinder. Barely breathing so as not to cause any unwelcome movement, then click! Some days are like a treasure hunt, searching desperately for these little gems while days like today are more like rain storms. You see, they did not cry tears of joy once, twice or even three times. There was no limit on the members of family sharing in the love. The laughter was not rationed yet given freely and often. Click… turn around – yes, another moment, click…. glance to the left -smiles and hugging, click… Thank you so much for today as it was not like your ordinary every day kind of storm. It was the perfect storm! Filled with this indescribable love between Kelly and Bob. A bond between sisters so close that anyone nearby can feel it. The adoration of fathers and mothers towards their children and most importantly the combination of all of these elements which makes for – click… a day that I totally enjoyed documenting. My sincerest thanks to Kelly and Bob for loving each other so purely and for crying and laughing and hugging and kissing often and for so freely sharing all of these emotions with us! Your tears have brought on my tears, my laughter has only echoed yours and the love that I saw in your eyes is simply a refection of what you see in each other! Here are but a few of my humble offerings =)

Bridget & Jeramie – Lake Mohawk Country Club

SingleExposure Photography – Craig Single

Mark traveled up to New Jersey to second shoot with me at a lake right down the road from our summer get away. While the rain tried to spoil the day…it didn’t damper our spirits or our ideas for great shots.

The ring bearer enjoyed the camera all day…

Not sweat, not dirt in his eye…a tear…

Even though it was a downpour we wanted to get some fun pictures…in comes my rainbow umbrella!

Covering up for the bustling of the dress…notice the waterfall of water coming off the tent…

He was told not to cry….guess what…

He did…
