Logan – Philadelphia Newborn Photography – Nicole Polk

Introducing…Logan Cole…my nephew!  Zach’s sister, Corinne, had this little guy a wee bit early, but he is nice and strong and healthy!  Logan definitely likes to be bundled up, very appropriate for a winter baby shoot!  I had a lot of fun with some new props.  It was so nice to spend some time getting to know Logan a bit and visiting with his parents, I hope to do it again soon.  Miss you guys already!

Brooke + Travis – Bucks County Engagement Photographer – Nicole Polk

Here is the long lost e session from Brooke and Travis from this past season.  I’m still behind on blogging, but at least I’ll have some goodies to share throughout my slower shooting season, including their wedding highlights!  These 2 were certainly no sticks in the mud for their shoot, but I did stick them in some mud.  You can’t tell from the images, but we had so much rain, one of the fields was quite muddy and they were game for anything.  Thanks for trusting me and not being afraid of some muddy feet.  Maybe I should start telling my couples to bring along some galoshes!

My Neighbors, take 3 or 4! Philadelphia Children’s Photographer – Nicole Polk

I’ve been taking images of my neighbors’ children for what seems like forever already!  It’s so fun to look back at their old shoots and see how much they have grown and changed in just a few short years.  You can see here they have always kept me on my toes and this shoot was no exception.  I love how Lucas, Owen, and Erica are so fiercely individual in their own personalities and it shows in their group images as well.  Until next time!

Becky and Brian – Wedding

On Halloween, I had the honor and pleasure of photographing Becky and Brian’s wedding at the Joseph Ambler Inn. This wedding was particularly special to me, because I have known Becky and her family for a very long time.

I started out by meeting up with Becky at her dad’s house. Brian met us there for some pre-ceremony pictures. After, we headed to the Inn… where some of the bridal party were all dressed up in full costume (it was Halloween, after all!)

Take a peak from some from the day . . .

Bridgit + Derek {Wedding} *Cindy Guessford

When days are planned by people near and far it can be difficult to coordinate all the necessary details.  Not today though!  Flawlessly executed from guest lists to sea shells to create an amazing setting for Bridgit and Derek's wedding day.  I'm loving hanging out with the guys today, they are raring to go and playing along =) The girls were not to be outdone and represented fully in all their sassiness!  An overall great day to shoot a wedding !!!

Melanie and Tom – Wedding – Erik Matey

This past weekend, I photographed Melanie and Tom’s wedding. A few weeks back, we shot their engagement session along the Delaware River.

We started the day out at Melanie’s parents house with all the girls getting ready. I could tell immediately that this was gonna be a fun packed day. The girls were all rehearsing their entrance dance to the reception – to the song of “Thriller” !

We moved onto Penn Ryn Mansion for some final prep, and then the ceremony.

Melanie and Tom decided to see each other before the ceremony, and as usual, it was a great choice. (being able to see each other before the ceremony allows for some private time between them, and also allows much more relaxed and fun portraits!)

The entire group was a blast to work with… laughing, joking and even some dancing! Somewhere in the middle of the reception, there was even fireworks… literally!

Here’s just a few from the day;)

Patty + Mike {E-Session} *Cindy Guessford

E-Session, Engagement session, hmmmm engaging! Ha, that’s it to engage with each other, draw interest from each other, captivate each other!  These are the kinds of emotions and actions that you want to evoke during an engagement session.  Your personalities and the dynamics of your relationship should show through.  It’s like woohoo, hollaaaaaa!  The natural, fun and loving way that Patty and Mike engage is so easy to document.  She looks in his direction and smiles so effortlessly.  He wraps his strong arms around her and she immediately relaxes and melts into them.  It is a special feeling and so wonderful to be able to see in action.  So today as the late afternoon sun dips beyond our view we finish roaming the streets of Philly and I am happy and excited to shoot more and more and more and more images of these two!  Here are some of my faves =)

Jen + Payton {Wedding} *Cindy Guessford

I watch from the distance just outside the tented reception as Jen and Payton interact with their guests, my gaze wanders & I am lured into looking towards the darkened grounds surrounding us. Right on cue as if turning the pages of a fairy tale book, hundreds of fireflies could be seen twinkling in the distance. Doing their little dance of love. I’ve always been filled with random factoids and for those that don’t know why fireflies light up well you are in for a treat today =) They do it all for the nookie, the nookie I say. Ha! How bout that. It’s a chemical process that happens when fireflies or lightning bugs try to attract a mate. So when you see hundreds of little lights pinging across the night sky like little beacons of love you’ll know why. Tonight, neither Jen nor Payton need to look too far for they have certainly found their mate, their love, their best friend and it was truly my pleasure getting to spend time capturing the fun they had with family and friends. I wish you both so much happiness for your new lives together and many more perfect days and sparkling nights!

Philadelphia Boudoir Photography – Nicole Polk

I’ve been itching to try out some boudoir photography over the last couple years and I finally found a great test subject – one of my brides Brittany!  She is the epitome of a client putting her absolute trust in me.  And it doesn’t hurt that she has fabulous fashion taste!  We finally got together to make some images and I’m quite pleased for my first go at it.  I could really enjoy doing some more of these.  So, ladies, if you are looking for a gift for your groom, give me a holler for some tastefully smokin’ images!

Hunstville Golf Club, Dallas, PA – Milano Wedding

Here are a few shots from the Milano Wedding. What a great couple! I had the pleasure to photograph the Bride’s Brother’s wedding back in January, so it was nice to see a lot of the same faces again at this wedding. These images are blowing me away. I can’t wait to get to the rest! New wedding albums to be posted soon. Keep your eyes open.

Lee Anne and Ken

A couple weeks back, I photographed Lee Anne and Ken’s wedding. This day turned out to be SO much fun – It’s also a great day when you walk in and the first thing the bride does is give you a hug hello! Lee Anne, Ken and their family and friends were extra friendly and very open to try some new and fun ideas! It may have been a long day… Driving from Holland, to near Wayne, NJ for the ceremony, then all the way over to almost Mt. Pocono back in PA… then home! …. but the images were worth it:)

I even got to really use my new lens – a Canon 24mm f/1.4 – it’s a dream of a lens. More on it in later posts.

Here are a few (just so many to choose from) from the day… a slideshow of their album is below. Look for the comments that they wrote about what they thought!

Oh Erik! I cannot describe how amazing I think that the pictures look. You are truly gifted. Ken and I watched the slideshow three times before going to bed. Now I have woken before sunrise thinking of them again. I can’t thank you enough.
You have received nothing but praise from all the guests and your work is incredible. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

Erin + Waiel – Philadelphia engagement photography – Nicole Polk

I’m slowly, but surely getting caught up on blog postings!  Erin + Waiel were such good sports for their e-session.  We must have had the shoot on one of the hottest days of summer, but we didn’t let the heat stop us from a great session.  I probably looked a little worse for the wear afterwards, but luckily, I wasn’t the one being photographed.  They just let me do my thing and we up for anything I threw at them.  I’m sad that I won’t be photographing their wedding at Turbine Hall, but some of my pals in Circle of 8 will do a fabulous job w/o my help!  I am happy to be a part of it all in this small way.  Here are some of my favorites from the day.
