Craig: Jennifer & Omar’s St. Anne’s Wedding

Jenn and Omar may have had a windy, extremely rainy, day, but at least the best part was that if it had been colder we would have had 7 feet of snow! We all easily survived a bit of rain and took advantage of great locations and everyone’s positive attitude about the day. Rainy days at weddings are certainly a challenge, but I love finding locations that others may miss, and in this case, gave Jenn & Omar their first quiet moment of the day.

Why is Jenn’s hair blowing inside? Because the front door was open over 50 feet away and not only was it blowing, but it was raining inside!

This cracked me up…Dad said not to take that picture, but perhaps the last time Jenn can easily ask for money from Dad!

Omar’s family is from Peru, and the expression on his Dad’s face of seeing Jenn walking down the aisle was awesome.

Yeah it is okay to laugh and have fun during communion…I had to sneak this shot

Caught this little moment in the bridal suite…

This was a first, a “stripper”, clown, and their college mascot…long story, but the best man’s toast was a first for me.

Restrooms aren’t just for…well you know…restful moment.

This moment was shielded for me, but another reason to have a second photographer…thanks Heather for catching Dad’s reaction to Mother and Son dancing.

Craig: Snow + Fun Couple = Awesome Engagement Session

A few days before the first of two huge snow storms, Jackie emailed me and asked about doing their engagement session in the snow. We made Plan A and Plan B…we ended up with Plan B since there was two feet of snow falling on the first day. The Sunday after, however, was absolutely amazing. Not a cloud in the sky and Jackie and Mike could not have been more fun. Every idea I had, they loved, so we had a blast. Here are a few of my favorites!

Working with Caroline and Josh was meant to be…long story short both Caroline and Josh knew one of my past couples. So, after spending time with them in Washington, DC for their engagement session I learned about how awesome their relationship truly means to each other. So, on a cold and windy day I headed into New York City with my friend Erik Matey. We had a great time, almost froze walking back from the reception, and got some amazing images of their day. First, here are a couple of my favorites from the day…then the slideshow below

Two of our members, Cindy Guessford, and Craig Single, have placed in the top five of the MyFoxPhilly Philadelphia HOT LIST of 2009. This was a contest to pick the best wedding photographers in the Philadelphia area. After over 45,000 votes Craig was selected as the best of 2009 and Cindy rounded out the top five.

How to have an awesome backyard wedding

Yes, backyard weddings CAN be awesome and as good as any top end venue in the world…especially if you have a great yard! Lauren and Josh asked me to be a part of their simple backyard wedding…and if you ask me it was way beyond simple! It was extremely well done and certainly the best (okay only) backyard wedding I have ever shot. Here are a couple of my favorites, and click HERE for the SLIDESHOW of their wedding day…

So how did Lauren and Josh make it so awesome? Fist the backyard was pretty large, about an acre, so that helped. Her parents spent a year making sure it looked amazing as well! Second, amazing caterer, that had a HUGE portable bathroom, and served one of the best meals I have had all year long! So it is possible to have an awesome backyard weddings while having the feel of a high end venue!

Mark traveled up to New Jersey to second shoot with me at a lake right down the road from our summer get away. While the rain tried to spoil the day…it didn’t damper our spirits or our ideas for great shots.

The ring bearer enjoyed the camera all day…

Not sweat, not dirt in his eye…a tear…

Even though it was a downpour we wanted to get some fun pictures…in comes my rainbow umbrella!

Covering up for the bustling of the dress…notice the waterfall of water coming off the tent…

He was told not to cry….guess what…

He did…

My favorite bridesmaid catching the bouquet ever…she wanted it from the beginning…

French Creek Country Club Wedding

As you will see in this wedding I am totally into my brides and grooms. Kelly and Josh have such an amazing connection and I loved getting shots of them all day long. There are very few times that I am brought to tears at a wedding but they did a good job of demonstrating true love and reminded me of how important my wife, kids, and family are in life. As one of my favorite movies once quoted…”life moves pretty fast. You don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”…so stop and look around especially at those important people…

Just love this…what a smile!…and of course she called in her sister to assist Mom on the veil!

While waiting around another example of grabbing a shot…I am always looking for something

So this is what I must have looked like when I saw my wife, Liz, walking into the church. But as soon as I felt those tears I looked down and just couldn’t look at her without crying. Josh just reminded me of all those emotions with one look.

Okay so Kelly may not love the look on her face on this one…but wow…that is love

Singing great hymns at ceremonies is a lost thing these days…but not for Kelly and Josh…

Simple…this is total happiness in a couple…

So while the bridal party were dispersing from the formal shot this just struck me as fun…I call it the unformal!

Yeah if I wasn’t looking around I would have missed this one…

Look at Josh’s face…that is total happiness again…how proud is he of his wife!

Yeah this is just funny…great reaction during their slideshow

I wish I could do more than just the white-man’s overbite dance…

Kelly’s sister and brother-in-law got to reenact their first dance from last year…so even though I was booked last year I kinda got an idea…

Three guesses…and the first two don’t count if you can figure out what song this was…

Yes, I am a portrait photographer as well…any good wedding photographer should be able to do everything for the most important day of your life!

Summer & Marc get married…

Thanks to the referral from Mark Kingsdorf of Queen of Hearts, I shot the amazing wedding of Summer and Marc. What a cool wedding! The ceremony and reception was held at Stotesbury Mansion…very cool place for a smaller wedding. Everthing was just perfect and lots of neat, unique, parts of the day. Here is their slideshow from their day…enjoy!

Summer got ready with the other ladies at the Loews Hotel, Offshoots created tons of beautiful flowers, amazing cake designed to look like the flowers, by The Cake Art Studio (Eileen Gray), DJs and lighting was by Synergetic Lighting & Sound, and the event was catered by Feastivities…every one of the other professionals were awesome and made a gorgeous event for Summer and Marc.
